A welterweight clash pitting Gilbert
Burns against Sean Brady
is in the works for an
Ultimate Fighting Championship event on Sept. 7.
Multiple outlets confirmed that Burns and Brady have verbally
agreed to the pairing following an initial report from MagicM_MMABets on social media. The bout
is expected to be a five-round headliner, but that has not been
finalized at this time. The UFC
Fight Night card will also include a featherweight showdown
between Calvin
Kattar and Kyle
Nelson.
Burns is looking to rebound from the first two-bout skid of his
professional career after dropping back-to-back outings against
Belal
Muhammad and Jack
Della Maddalena. The 37-year-old former title challenger has
bested the likes of Jorge
Masvidal, Neil Magny,
Stephen
Thompson, Tyron
Woodley, Demian Maia
and Gunnar
Nelson during his UFC tenure.
Brady, meanwhile, began his career with 15 consecutive triumphs
before suffering a second-round TKO loss to Muhammad at UFC 280.
The Renzo
Gracie Philly product returned to the win column with a
submission of Kelvin
Gastelum at UFC on ESPN 52 this past December.
