Not one but two de facto
Ultimate Fighting Championship title eliminator matches just
crashed and burned on the scales ahead of
UFC Vegas 107.

Headlining the 10-fight card is a women’s catchweight contest
between Erin
Blanchfield and Maycee
Barber. While Blanchfield hit her proper marks, the same could
not be said for the surging Barber. As for the rest of the card,
things did not go so well. The bantamweight contest between
Ketlen
Vieira and Macy
Chiasson was shifted before weigh-ins to a featherweight bout,
with Vieira sustaining a 25% fine of her purse because of this.
Additionally, the bout between Trevin
Giles and Andreas
Gustafsson fell through before weigh-ins took place, with Giles
suffering an 11th hour injury that bumped him from the matchup.
Finally, Allan
Nascimento exceeded the flyweight limit by a pound and a half,
resulting in a 20% fine.

Blanchfield (13-2) has largely lived up to her „Cold Blooded“
nickname as she’s only tasted defeat inside the Octagon once. She
bounced back from her loss to Manon
Fiorot by winning a decision over Rose
Namajunas and also holds key victories over Taila
Santos and Jessica
Andrade. The 26-year-old fighter officially stepped on the
scale weighing 125 pounds.

Early UFC losses to Roxanne
Modafferi and Alexa
Grasso had some doubting that Barber (14-2) was really „The
Future“ of the women’s flyweight division. However, the 27-year-old
has since ripped off a six-fight win streak that includes a TKO
over Amanda
Ribas and a dominant decision against Katlyn
Cerminara. The Team Alpha Male fighter officially weighed 126.5
pounds for the biggest fight of her career, making this flyweight
headliner a catchweight while Barber will be hit with a 20% fine of
her purse.

UFC Vegas 107 will air in its entirety on ESPN and ESPN+ on
Saturday. Prelims begin at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, while the main card
kicks off at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
