2022 against Marlon Vera
in the main event of UFC
on ESPN 41.

All fighters made weight, although there are several catchweight
contests to note. Rescheduled from UFC on ESPN 40 last week,

Godinez is booked at 120 pounds as it was moved up several
months to this event.

Coming off of impressive wins over Casey
Kenney and Pedro
Munhoz, „The Dominator“ is looking to show that he still has
plenty left in the tank at 37. While the former bantamweight king
lost to two-division champion Henry
Cejudo after a layoff of over three years, Cruz (24-3) has
shown off his signature footwork and striking in his last two
bouts. The San Diego native officially weighed 135 pounds on the
dot for his first main event assignment since January 2016.

After an up-and-down 2020 that saw „Chito“ lose to Yadong Song
and Jose
Aldo in between defeating Sean
O’Malley, the Ecuadorian has put together an impressive
three-fight winning streak. After winning a decision over Davey Grant,
Vera (19-7-1) knocked out former lightweight champion Frankie
Edgar with a brutal front kick and won a thrilling five-round
battle with Rob Font. Vera
stepped on the scale at 135.5 pounds for his second headlining
matchup in a row.

UFC on ESPN 41 will air live on ESPN and ESPN+ in its entirety on
Saturday. Prelims begin at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT, while the main card
starts at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
