Harrison challenges Julianna
Pena for the women’s bantamweight title in the co-main event at
UFC
316 on June 7 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
Abdelaziz recently claimed that Harrison can beat former champ
Ronda
Rousey, women’s GOAT contender Amanda
Nunes, and Pena on the same night at UFC 316.
“June 7, you can bring Ronda, Amanda, [Juliana] at the same time,”
Abdelaziz wrote.”They will all lose to [Kayla
Harrison]. She’s [a] different [breed].”

Harrison is a massive -550 favorite to beat “The Venezuelan Vixen,”
a +370 underdog. Harrison made instant waves in the world of MMA
when she made her pro debut with the
Professional Fighters League in 2018. The two-time Olympic gold
medalist went on to win the PFL lightweight title before signing
with the
UFC. Harrison submitted former champ Holly Holm in
her UFC debut last year and followed up with a decision win over
top contender Ketlen
Vieira to earn her title shot.
Meanwhile, Pena is no stranger to defying the odds, having
won the title with a submission win over Amanda
Nunes in one of the biggest upsets in the sport’s history.
However, she lost the title via a lopsided decision in their
immediate rematch, after which “The Lioness” retired. Raquel
Pennington won the vacant title with a victory over Mayra
Bueno Silva. “Rocky” suffered a controversial split decision
loss to Pena in her first title defense, which was widely
considered a robbery.
