Jasmine
Jasudavicius looks like a genuine threat in the
Ultimate Fighting Championship women’s flyweight division.
The Niagara Top Team rep disposed of Jessica
Andrade and did so with clinical disregard, as she submitted
the former 115-pound champion with a rear-naked choke in the first
round of their featured
UFC 315 prelim on Saturday at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
Jasudavicius (14-3, 8-2 UFC) brought it to a close 2:40 into Round
1 and now finds herself on a five-fight winning streak.

Andrade (26-14, 17-12 UFC) was never a factor.
Jasudavicius cracked her with a one-two, executed a takedown, threw
her ground-and-pound in gear and progressed to the back without
much resistance. She then flattened out Andrade, softened her
further with punches and cinched the choke for the
finish.
Meanwhile, Mike Malott
wiped out onetime Cage Fury Fighting Championships titleholder
Charlie
Radtke with punches in the second round of their welterweight
pairing. Radtke (10-5, 3-2 UFC) bowed out 26 seconds into Round 2,
losing for the second time in three outings.
The 33-year-old Malott (12-2-1, 5-1 UFC) leaned on evasive movement
and a variety of weapons, all while luring “Chuck Buffalo” into his
trap.
Early in the second round, he folded Radtke with a left hook,
pounced with savage standing-to-ground punches, forced referee Marc
Goddard to act and brought the hometown crowd to a
boil.
Malott has won eight of his past nine fights.
Further down the undercard, two-time Cage Warriors Fighting
Championship titleholder Modestas
Bukauskas moved another step closer to a divisional ranking
with a contentious split decision over Ion
Cutelaba in a three-round light heavyweight tilt. Judges Sal
D’Amato and Pasquale Procopio scored it 29-28 and 30-27 for
Bukauskas, while Jerin Valel saw it 30-27 for Cutelaba.
Bukauskas (18-6, 6-4 UFC) picked his spots in the 15-minute
encounter. He landed sharp one-twos and circled away from danger,
often choosing precision over output. Cutelaba was the aggressor
for the vast majority of the match, as the Las Vegas-based Moldovan
attacked the legs with powerful kicks, unleashed punching bursts to
the head and utilized an effective clinch. Those efforts fell
short. Bukauskas closed with a strong third round, where he
connected with a pair of jarring right hands, fought fire with fire
and did just enough to clear the hurdle in front of him.
The 31-year-old Bukauskas has recorded three consecutive
victories.
Elsewhere, former two-division TKO Major League MMA titleholder
Marc-Andre
Barriault put away Bruno “Blindado”
Silva with a volley of elbows in the first round of their
middleweight clash. Silva (23-13, 4-7 UFC) succumbed to blows 1:27
into Round 1, suffering his fifth straight defeat.
Barriault (17-9, 6-8 UFC) gave the Brazilian TKO export pause with
a few dirty-boxing uppercuts, then pressed him into the cage.
The Canadian created some distance with an underhook and unleashed
a series of elbows to the side of Silva’s head, one of which
knocked him unconscious and left him prone and motionless on the
mat. He exited the cage on a stretcher.
The victory was Barriault’s first since June 10, 2023 and closed
the book on a three-fight losing streak.
Finally, American Top Team’s Bekzat
Almakhan punched out ex-Brave Combat Federation champion
Brad
Katona in the first round of their bantamweight encounter. A
two-time winner of “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series, Katona
(14-5, 4-5 UFC) checked out 64 seconds into Round 1.
Almakhan (12-2, 1-1 UFC) was quicker on the draw.
The Kazakhstan native decked the ducking Katona with a vicious
right uppercut, chased him to the canvas and mopped up what was
left with a few hammerfists before referee Jason Herzog could
arrive on the scene.
The 27-year-old Almakhan has won nine of his past 10 bouts. In
other action, Navajo
Stirling (7-0, 2-0 UFC) kept his perfect professional record
intact with a unanimous decision—29-28, 29-28, 29-27—over Ivan Erslan
(14-5, 0-2 UFC) in a three-round light heavyweight affair; and
Daniel
Santos (13-2, 3-1 UFC) filled in as a short-notice replacement
for Gavin
Tucker and laid claim to a unanimous decision over Jeong Yeong
Lee (11-3, 2-2 UFC) in a three-round featherweight scrap,
sweeping the scorecards with matching 30-27 marks from the judges.
