Turcios was originally slated to face Rosas Jr. in a bantamweight
affair on Saturday. However, shortly before the fighters were
supposed to make their walkout, the broadcast team announced that
the fight was off due to Rosas Jr. falling ill.

While it was initially not confirmed, the broadcast team revealed
that the promotion planned to rebook the matchup for a week later
at UFC Fight Night 238 on March 2. The UFC later announced the
rescheduled fight on social media. The matchup is reportedly set to
take place at a catchweight so the fighters don’t have to cut
weight again.

However, Turcios called the rebooked fight “fake news” in a
since-deleted Instagram post.

“FAKE NEWS. No fight contract has been signed yet for a new date,”
Turcios wrote on his Instagram stories. “Last night Rosas Jr. said
no fight literally five minutes before the walk out to fight in the
Octagon. Rosas Jr. said no to facing me in the Octagon in front of
his 20,000 Mexican fans in Mexico City. Rosas Jr. disrespected the
Bushido code… very unprofessional.”

Turcios has gone 2-1 in the UFC, sandwiching a unanimous decision
loss between two split-decision victories. Rosas Jr., meanwhile, is
also 2-1 in the promotion.
