Izumi will complete the lineup for the PFL’s upcoming
Champions Series event in South Africa.

The promotion announced the full fight card for the event on
Monday. PFL Champions Series: Road to Dubai takes place at
GrandWest Arena in Capetown, South Africa and is headlined by a
middleweight title tilt between Johnny
Eblen and Costello
van Steenis. In the co-main event, Dakota
Ditcheva will face Sumiko
Inaba in a women’s flyweight bout. PFL Champions Series will be
preceded by PFL Africa 1, which features first-round tournament
bouts at bantamweight and heavyweight.

Dagestan’s Zaynukov made his
PFL debut at β€œBattle for the Giants” last October, when he took
a unanimous decision over Dedrek
Sanders. The Eagles MMA representative has won 11 of his last
12 professional outings dating back to 2019.

Izumi, meanwhile, last competed at Rizin 50, where he took a
unanimous decision triumph against
UFC veteran Spike
Carlyle on March 30. The 36-year-old Japan native has fought
primarily under the Deep banner
while compiling a 6-3 record.

A U.S. broadcast partner for the event is expected to be announced
soon, according to a release.
