Pimblett had an uneasy feeling just before walking out for his
fight against Justin
Gaethje.
Pimblett (23-4) faced his biggest step up in competition to date in
Gaethje for the vacant lightweight title at UFC 324
last month. Despite an immense display of grit, Pimblett suffered a
beatdown en route to a unanimous decision loss against
Gaethje.

Pimblett says he is being lauded for the loss against Gaethje more
than he has been praised for his seven
UFC wins leading up to that. “The Baddy” also revealed that he
got a weird feeling just before walking out for the fight. While
Pimblett didn’t feel his usual confident self, he brushed off the
feeling once his walkout music started playing. The Liverpudlian
believes he might have been waiting too long backstage before
walking out. Regardless, Pimblett had a perfect camp and weight cut
and makes no excuses for his loss.
Looking Back
“I always watch me fights back,” Pimblett said on YouTube. “Even
though I lost, it was a very entertaining fight to watch. Everyone
keeps telling me how much they like the fight and the heart I
showed and all that. But it’s crazy because I feel like I’m getting
more praise for losing this fight than all seven of me UFC wins…
It’s weird to be honest, before we walked and we were stood there,
I had a weird feeling. But it’s one of them, you get weird feelings
now and then. I didn’t feel as confident as I usually do. But then
me music comes out and I start bouncing out, there’s no feeling
like it. I love that moment when I walk out. I think we were
waiting a bit too long at the back… Felt boss in fight camp, I had
a great weight cut, I had no injuries for once, everything was
going great and I felt boss. So I have no excuses.”
