Jussier
Formiga
fought for the first time since being released by the

Ultimate Fighting Championship
in the main event of LFA
124
.

Formiga (24-8) faced off against another
Legacy Fighting Alliance
newcomer in Felipe
Bunes
. Originally meant to be a flyweight bout, it was moved to
a 139-pound catchweight after Formiga massively missed weight for
the three-round fight.

The first frame primarily took place on the feet with neither
fighter breaking away, although Formiga briefly took the back of
Bunes (11-6). However, Round 2 was a different story as the
Brazilian grappler took down Bunes and locked in a tight rear-naked
choke that forced Bunes to tap. The finish came at 1:53 of the
second frame and is Formiga’s first win since 2019.

In the co-main event, lightweights James
Wilson
and Ahmad
Suhail Hasanzada
had a bloody scrap. Hasanzada (10-1) was able
to open a nasty cut on the forehead to Wilson (4-1), who didn’t
have much to offer besides a few takedowns. Hasanzada controlled
the fight on the feet and cruised his way to three 30-27
scorecards.

Waldo
Cortes-Acosta
made easy work of fellow heavyweight Derrick
Weaver
. After a dominant first round, Cortes-Acosta (5-0)
knocked down Weaver (6-8) and
finished off the American with punches
. The finish came just 22
seconds into Round 2.

Austin
Wourms
and Jacobi
Jones
wildly traded punches early in their 162-pound
catchweight bout. Wourms (5-3) eventually got the fight to the
ground and locked in a kimura then
transitioned to an armbar
that forced Jones (3-1) to tap. The
finish came just 1:18 into the first round.

Bantamweight prospect Kasey
Tanner
made short work of Tristan
Lindi
. Tanner (4-0) was able to take the back of Lindi (2-4)
and then
rained down blows
until the referee waved the fight off. The
stoppage came at 2:16 of Round 1.

The main card began with a flyweight bout between An Ho and
Guilherme
Crossi
. It didn’t take long for Ho to impress as he
landed a beautiful spinning backfist that floored Crossi (0-1) and
then finished the fight with a flurry of punches
. Ho advances
to 1-0 in his professional career.
