On Thursday, the Singapore-based organization announced via
press release that it has entered into an agreement with
DirecTV for Business. Due to this deal, One cards will be watchable
in various restaurants and establishments stateside for its One
Fight Night series. The live broadcasts will begin at 8 p.m. ET/5
p.m. PT, typically on Fridays, and the first event available will
be
One on Prime Video 14 on Sept. 29.
Chief Sales and Services Officer at DirecTV, Mike Wittrock, said in
a statement, “Mixed martial arts continues to grow in popularity
across the country, so we’re excited to deliver One Championship
events to bars and restaurants nationwide. Our ability to deliver
One Championship to customers across the country on their existing
equipment further validates our leadership in sports and
entertainment by offering customers premium content.”
Earlier in 2023, One tested this out by making One on Prime Video
10 – the event featuring the rubber match between Demetrious
Johnson and Adriano
Moraes – watchable on a limited number of restaurants and bars
through DirecTV for Business. The list of establishments that
include a plethora of Buffalo Wild Wings and Twin Peaks Restaurant
chains across the U.S. can be found on a specific One Championship site
that also allows for bars to sign up to receive these
broadcasts.
One on Prime Video 14 will be going down inside of the Singapore
Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, on Sept. 29. A 115-pound
championship tilt between Stamp
Fairtex and Seo Hee Ham
will serve as its headliner, and women will largely take the stage
across the main event. In the co-main slot, Smilla
Sundell and Allycia
Hellen Rodrigues square off for the 125-pound muay thai title,
and the “featured fight” brings Danielle
Kelly against Jessa Khan
for the 115-pound submission grappling belt. Rounding out the final
four matchups, Jingnan
Xiong and Nat
Jaroonsak square off in a mixed rules striking match at 125
pounds.
