against Max
Holloway (27-9) at

McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg in a trilogy loss
against Dustin
Poirier in 2021. However, the former UFC double champ
repeatedly teased a return against Chandler, who spent over a year
waiting for the matchup to materialize.
McGregor was finally booked to fight Chandler at UFC 303
in 2024. However, “The Notorious” pulled out of the bout 16 days
before the scheduled date due to a toe injury.
How Conor McGregor’s toe injury happened before UFC 303
In the UFC 329 “Countdown” video, a clip shows the exact moment
McGregor’s toe injury occurred that led to the cancellation of the
fight against Chandler. He can be seen throwing a teep kick before
wincing in pain and also revealed that his training partner was not
wearing shin guards.
“There were lapses in concentration in training,” McGregor said.
“I’m the lead of the training. So if I’m lapsing in concentration,
it filters down. And that is what took place. The training partner
had no protection. Next thing you know, bang, broke my f*cking
toe.”
