at DWCS
The fight moved at a frantic pace from the opening exchange. Hunt
(7-1) found himself in mount in the early exchanges before Perea
(9-3) worked his way back to his feet. The latter then landed a big
punch. Hunt scrambled for a leg, but Perea responded with a series
of elbows and follow-up strikes to force the referee stoppage.
The victory marked Perea’s fourth consecutive win, earning a spot
on the UFC roster after impressing UFC CEO Dana
White. In his post-fight interview, he opened up about what it
means to join the premier mixed martial arts promotion.
“I have been waiting my entire life; I have been manifesting this
and working so hard,” Perea said in his post-fight interview. “It
is incredible. It seems like a dream.”
