Patrice
Evra
has the option to enlist some high-profile coaching for
his
Professional Fighters League
debut.

The retired French soccer star will
make his MMA debut
at the
PFL Europe 2
event scheduled for May 23 in Paris. In a recent
phone conversation captured by the promotion, former UFC
lightweight champion Khabib
Nurmagomedov
offers his services to Evra as he prepares for his
new endeavor.

β€œI’m here in Dubai. I told you many times, send me location, and
I’m going to find you,“ Nurmagomedov said. „Send location, tell me
where are you? When I see you, you have to be ready and that’s it.
Other things I’m going to take care of. I’m going to teach you how
to smash people.”

Evra was a captain for both Manchester United and the French
national team as part of a decorated career on the pitch and has
reportedly been training with former Glory Kickboxing and PFL
talent Cedric
Doumbe
. An opponent for his first MMA foray has not yet been
announced.

β€œI’m in the gym. I’m training twice per day …I need to train,“ Evra
said to Khabib. „I need to take it seriously. You know how much
respect I have for you, for the sport, so that’s why I really need
to have a training session with you because I want to know from the
best.”

Nurmagomedov has transitioned to the role of coaching since
retiring from MMA in 2020 and corners some of the top fighters in
the sport, including Islam
Makhachev
, Usman
Nurmagomedov
and Umar
Nurmagomedov
.

During their exchange, Evra jokingly asked Khabib about his
intentions behind the invitation.

β€œCan I ask you question, because I know you love me, but at the
same time I’ve got the feeling you want to kill me and destroy me,”
Evra asked.

β€œNo, I just want you to improve yourself,” Khabib responded.
β€œNothing else.”
