Jingliang
Li will lock horns with Carlos
Prates in a welterweight tilt at UFC
305.
Prates confirmed the booking on social media following an initial
report from UFC Weibo. UFC 305 takes place at RAC Arena in Perth,
Australia, on Aug. 17 and is headlined by a middleweight
championship clash between Dricus Du
Plessis and Israel
Adesanya.
Li hasn’t competed since September 2022, when he suffered a
split-decision loss against Daniel
Rodriguez at UFC 279. The 36-year-old China Top Team
representative is 11-6 since beginning his promotional tenure in
2014. His ledger includes wins over the likes of Muslim
Salikhov, Santiago
Ponzinibbio and Elizeu
Zaleski dos Santos.
Prates has kicked off his UFC career with back-to-back knockout
victories over Trevin
Giles and Charlie
Radtke. The
Dana White’s Contender Series alum has won eight straight
professional outings, a streak that dates back to December 2019.
