Adesanya doesn’t seem very interested in Alex
Pereira’s light heavyweight title shot offer.

Pereira won the vacant light heavyweight strap with a second-round
knockout win over former champ Jiri
Prochazka at UFC 295 on Saturday. “Poatan” called out Adesanya
in his post-fight interview, urging the Nigerian-born Kiwi to move
up to 205 pounds.
“I know that I’m not going to do what he did to me and make me
fight three times to fight him at middleweight,” Pereira said in
his post-fight interview. “I know it’s a guy we have a lot of
history. I want to make this fight happen. Adesanya, come to
daddy.”
“The Last Stylebender” responded with a meme of his UFC 287 KO win
over Pereira with the Brazilian dressed up as Elsa from the Disney
movie “Frozen.”
“Let it gooo,” Adesanya wrote.
Adesanya lost his middleweight strap to Sean
Strickland in a shocking upset at UFC 293 in September.
Adesanya has since stated that he is going to take a long hiatus
from the sport, even mentioning 2027 as a potential timeline for
his return.
Pereira has
labeled Adesanya’s decision to take time off as “waste of
talent.” However, Adesanya doesn’t appear to be lured by the idea
of a light heavyweight gold bid. “The Last Stylebender” believes
former light heavyweight champ Jamahal
Hill is likely to be Pereira’s next opponent.
“The fact that it sits with him, it hurts his spirit, I like it,”
Adesanya said on his YouTube channel. “But yeah he did it, in that
same arena, getting that belt again. I think Jamahal
Hill is probably next for him. But I know for a fact it hurts
his spirit, which I like. What did he say, ‘Come to daddy’. It’s
like, N—a last time I checked, you were f—-ing slept. But it’s all
good. You know what, I wonder if I will ever see him on the golf
course.”
