“Many of you know me as a former UFC heavyweight professional
fighter and three-time MMA world champion,” Kohler stated. “Since
then, I have been recognized as an author, inventor, small business
owner and mentor. From the experiences in my life, the family
values and standards I hold myself to, and my business background,
I believe I am the best candidate for this office.
“…My relentless commitment to serving the people of this great
state has driven me to pursue this opportunity to lead. As
governor, I will focus on making Minnesota a better place to live,
work, and raise a family.”
From Lowering the Boom to Lowering Taxes
Kohler also vows to reduce taxes while increasing funding for
police, fire and peace officers to help emphasize public
safety.
Now 61 years old, Kohler’s lone Octagon appearance came at UFC 22
“There Can Only Be One Champion” on Sept. 24, 1999, when he knocked
out Steve
Judson with a massive right hand 30 seconds into the opening
stanza. Kohler compiled a 12-15 record while fighting
professionally from 1997 to 2012. Over the course of his career, he
squared off against the likes of Dan Severn,
Renato
Sobral and Travis
Fulton, among others.
