week.
Former two-division champ Conor
McGregor took to social media on Friday, attacking ex-foe
Khabib
Nurmagomedov while hurling racial slurs and other insults
towards Nurmagomedov and his family. While the two had been going
back and forth lately due to the performance of Usman
Nurmagomedov over McGregor’s fellow countryman Paul
Hughes, this briefly posted diatribe was deleted minutes after
it went up.

wrote, with the screenshot of his post preserved by
MMA Junkie. “Cousin f—-n motherf—-n hidin motherf—-r.
Show us you and your cousins kids together because we have kids
here in Ireland that wanna smoke them in competition. Are they
competing or what are you saying Ireland vs Dagestan? Where’s your

This post is the latest in the long-simmering rivalry between
“Notorious” and the unbeaten Nurmagomedov, dating back before they
met at UFC 229 in 2018. Nurmagomedov dropped a round to McGregor,
but he concluded the evening by throttling the Irishman with a neck
crank and leapt from the cage to attack McGregor’s cornerman
Dillon
Danis. Meanwhile, two members of Nurmagomedov’s team including
fellow UFC fighter Zubaira
Tukhugov struck a recovering McGregor in the cage before
security could contain the situation.
McGregor, who has not set foot in a cage to compete since his July
2021 knockout loss to Dustin
Poirier, has chirped at fighters and former opponents
constantly on social media in hopes of drumming up interest or
attention. For around two years, the ex-two division champion was
linked to a matchup against Michael
Chandler, only for that to dissipate when McGregor injured his
toe and Chandler took a rematch with Charles
Oliveira at UFC 309. Rather than fight in the Octagon, McGregor
has been in court as of late, where he was recently found liable
for sexual assault in Dublin. Nurmagomedov, on the other hand, has
not wavered from his commitment to retirement.
