Conor
McGregor didn’t entirely shut down a potential fight against
KSI.
The YouTube boxer’s manager, Mams Taylor, recently claimed to have
nearly sealed the deal for a boxing match against McGregor. Top
investor Turki Alalshikh was seemingly mediating the negotiations
for a mega fight in Alcatraz Prison.

However, talks seemingly fell through with McGregor pulling out at
the last minute. Taylor claims Alalshikh even told them that
“Notorious” had agreed to the matchup. Taylor believes McGregor
wanted a more lucrative deal, leading to a sudden change of heart.
However, Taylor doesn’t harbor any ill feelings for anyone.
“We were told it’s on and the deal is done,” Taylor
told TalkSport. “We had our meetings with Turki
Alalshikh and went back and forth on the negotiations from our
side. We agreed a deal, it went great and then they said the deal
with Conor was already agreed. I don’t know exactly how it
happened, but it sounds like he had a change of heart from their
side. Maybe it was because he wanted more money. But it’s such a
massive fight, I’m not mad at anyone.”
Meanwhile, KSI reiterated the same the same, while adding that
he just plans to move on.
“We had a fight set up and Conor said no,” KSI said. “I’m gonna
just move on.”
Taylor’s conjecture about the reason behind the fight falling
through might be correct. McGregor shared a story with KSI’s
comments and added a “wad of dollars” emoji, seemingly calling for
a bigger payday.
KSI is 5-1 in boxing and is coming off his lone career loss against
Tommy Fury. Meanwhile, McGregor’s only foray into boxing was a
superfight against Floyd
Mayweather in 2017, where the Dubliner suffered a stoppage
loss. The former UFC double champ hasn’t fought since 2021,
although that hasn’t deterred him from teasing a return every now
and then.
