Colby
Covington
believes Khamzat
Chimaev
’s Chechen squad was ready to pick a fight at RAF
10.

Chimaev faced Dillon
Danis
in a wrestling match in the main event at RAF 10 on
Sunday in St. Louis, Missouri. Chimaev defeated Danis via fall in
45 seconds before all hell broke loose.

Chimaev appeared to kick Danis before the stage was swarmed in a
wild scene. While Chimaev’s supporters tried to jump Danis,
security intervened.

Not a Good Look

Covington, who attended the event, believes the brawl was
pre-planned on the part of Chimaev’s team. Despite having rewatched
the match, “Chaos” isn’t sure what instigated the brawl. Covington
believes Danis might have caught Chimaev in a guillotine, which led
to “Borz” retaliating with a kick. Having recently left the

UFC
to fully dedicate himself to RAF, Covington was
disappointed by the turn of events at RAF 10. Covington believes
that such unruly conduct won’t help RAF become the biggest
wrestling promotion in the world.

“It seemed like the Chechens, they came for that; they rushed the
stage right away, they were ready for a fight,” Covington told Red
Corner MMA. “It shouldn’t have happened and it’s not gonna happen
ever again… I was actually just watching the film back now, what
caused it and what started it all. I can’t tell. Maybe Danis had a
guillotine, and that’s what started it. But Khamzat pushed him and
kicked him at the end. Maybe he was getting guillotined. I can’t
tell after rewatching it. But we’ve got to be more professional.
We’re getting paid to be out there, we’re not freaking thugs, we’re
not in the schoolyard. This is a professional sport. We want to
build Real American Freestyle into the greatest wrestling promotion
in the world. And we just can’t have that.”
