After two impressive first-round knockout wins in January and June,
Brunno
Ferreira was excited to return to the Octagon against Roman
Kopylov at UFC
Fight Night on Aug. 24.

On Monday, however, “Hulk” was informed that his Russian opponent
has withdrawn from the fight.
„Once again I received not so good news,” Ferreira said in a video
on Instagram. “My fight with Roman Kopylov is off. When I say the
Russians don’t want to fight me, that’s the truth.
Actually that’s the second [time]. [Sharabutdin
Magomedov] did the same. Curiously both are strikers.”

Ferreira ended the video with a question for his followers.
„Why do you think the Russians don’t want to fight me?” he asked.
“Maybe because they know how tough I am in grappling and also
because I have knockout power. What you guys think?“
Shortly after the video was posted, Sherdog.com spoke to Ferreira,
who revealed that his manager is negotiating to keep him on the
same card against Abdul
Razak Alhassan.
„He already left two fights against me,” Ferreira said of
Alhassan. “I hope we can make it happen now.”
Ferreira also revealed that the promotion was willing to book the
fight against Alhassan on Aug. 10, but since he is still healing
from a foot injury, he’d like to keep the original date. Ferreira
and Alhassan were previously scheduled to meet on May 20 and July 1
in 2023, but on both occasions the bout was scrapped. Alhassan had
an abbreviated Octagon appearance on July 13, when his bout against
Cody
Brundage at UFC
on ESPN 59 was declared a no contest after “Judo Thunder”
landed multiple illegal elbows to the back of his opponent’s head.
