fight.”

An Ongoing Saga

Covington (17-5) defeated former training partner Masvidal (37-15)
via unanimous decision in a grudge match at UFC 272 in March 2022.
Masvidal attacked Covington just weeks later outside a Miami
steakhouse. “Gamebred” accused Covington of crossing boundaries
with his trash talk in the lead-up to their fight. Covington sued
Masvidal, claiming to have suffered a broken tooth and damage to
his luxury watch. Masvidal was found guilty of felony charges,
which were later reduced to misdemeanor battery after he took a
plea deal. Four years later, Covington has now filed a civil
complaint, suing Masvidal for damages upwards of $50,000 sustained
in the attack.

Meanwhile, Covington and Tsarukyan (23-3) have expressed mutual
interest in a wrestling match at RAF. However, the
UFC
is allegedly not allowing its active fighters to compete
against each other in wrestling matches.
