Rodrigues picked up a unanimous decision win over the Spanish
standout in the co-main event at
One on Prime Video 20
on International Women’s Day at the
Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Thailand on March 9. Rodrigues
subsequently called for a rematch against reigning ONE women’s
atomweight world champion Fairtex, who she defeated for the muay
thai title in 2020. Rodrigues is also open to a clash against
Phetjeeja, who unified the ONE women’s atomweight kickboxing title
against Janet Todd
in the evening’s main event.

“I’m expecting to fight against Phetjeeja or Stamp
Fairtex
, if she comes back to muay thai,” Rodrigues said at the
post-fight press conference. ‌

Phetjeeja also expressed double-champ aspirations after the event
and has her eyes on Rodrigues’ muay thai title next. Meanwhile,
Fairtex is scheduled to defend her MMA world title against Denice
Zamboanga
at
One 166: Qatar
, which goes down at the Lusail Sports Arena on
March 1.

Rodrigues also expressed interest in a future move to MMA, where
she would also prefer a rematch against Fairtex.

“I’m anxious to make my MMA debut,” she said. “I think it’ll be a
great opportunity to make a run in MMA. I’d like Stamp
Fairtex
in MMA.”

Rodrigues’ clash against Morales marked the first time two mothers
competed for a ONE world title. Rodrigues was honored to
co-headline the special card and hopes to continue to inspire more
mothers and women.

“I’m very happy and honored to be here tonight, representing women
and mothers on this all-female card,” Rodrigues said. “It’s a deep
honor for me to show our strength and our willpower. I’m very happy
to represent all the mothers and very honored to be able to inspire
them. I hope that I continue to inspire them. I’m very happy to
have this opportunity.”

In addition t the fact that her son was in attendance, the victory
was also special for Rodrigues because it came one week after her
mother’s birthday.

“I’m extremely happy with this victory because I had my son with me
and because it was my mom’s birthday on March 2, and we didn’t get
the chance to celebrate it because I was in camp preparing for the
fight,” she said. “This was a way to celebrate my mom’s birthday.
I’m very happy, I have no words to describe my happiness at this
moment.”
