Jon Jones was
an interested observer during the UFC 252 main event, as evidenced
by his live reaction on Twitter as Stipe
Miocic
and Daniel
Cormier
squared off for a third time at the UFC Apex in Las
Vegas on Saturday night.

After Miocic had his hand raised after five competitive rounds to
retain his heavyweight belt, Jones once again implied that a
transition to the heavyweight division was near.

“Heavyweight world championships I will be seeing you real soon,”
Jones wrote. “Victorious.”

For years, Jones has teased a move to the big man’s division. At
times, he seemed more interested in clearing out his own weight
class. At others, he appeared to be more intrigued with taking on a
new challenge. Most recently, the Jackson-Wink MMA standout
displayed interest in a matchup with heavyweight knockout artist
Francis
Ngannou
before a
bitter public dispute
over money prompted Jones to threaten to
vacate his light heavyweight title and walk away from the
sport.

Since then, Jones hasn’t said much regarding his fighting future
until Saturday, when he expressed confidence in his ability to
match up with the best in the heavyweight division.

“For some reason these heavyweights don’t seem so big to me
tonight,” he wrote.

“Avoid Stipe’s right hand, I’m too fast, I’ll be too strong when
the time is right and have way too much energy. Soon and very soon
I’ll be considered the baddest man on this planet.”

Jones’ remarks didn’t go unnoticed, as Ngannou reminded “Bones”
that another superfight could potentially await.
