Belgium’s Boris
Mbarga Atangana will put his unbeaten record on the line
against former
Ultimate Fighting Championship fighter Bryan
Battle in a matchup that pits one of
Professional Fighters League Europe’s emerging prospects
against an experienced American veteran.

Atangana, 27, is 9-0 with all nine of his victories coming by
stoppage. He has recorded seven knockouts and two submissions and
is 4-0 in PFL competition, including three first-round
finishes.

In his most recent appearance, Atangana stopped UFC vet Jared
Gooden by knockout in 65 seconds at
PFL Brussels.

Battle (13-3, 1 no contest) represents Atangana’s most experienced
opponent to date. The winner of Season 29 of “The Ultimate
Fighter,” Battle compiled a 7-1 record with one no contest during
his UFC tenure.

Battle also has history with French mixed martial arts fans after
his appearance at
UFC Paris in 2024. He stopped France’s Kevin
Jousset and then taunted the crowd following the victory.

A flyweight
title fight headlines PFL Chicago: Tune in on Saturday, Oct. 16 at
11 p.m. ET on ESPN.

“I know y’all didn’t think The Butcher was going to lose in a fist
fight to a French dude,” Battle said after the bout.

That performance gives the matchup an additional promotional push
as Battle returns to fight in front of a European crowd against the
Belgian knockout artist.
