Nick
Galanti
worked with a
Dana White’s Contender Series
alum ahead of his appearance on
the show.

Galanti (8-1) opened the action on
Week 3
of DWCS 2026 in a middleweight clash against Carlos
Petruzzella
(15-2). While Galanti is known for his wrestling,
he floored Petruzzella with a right hook and finished him with
ground-and-pound in just 35 seconds.

Galanti later revealed that he has been working with former

Ultimate Fighting Championship
fighter Karl
Roberson
to develop his striking. While he originally hoped for
a head-kick knockout, he is just as happy to have earned a UFC
contract with a right hook.

“Everyone says I’m just a grappler, but I have been working with my
guy Karl Roberson, UFC vet, Glory vet; he had one of the fastest
knockouts,” Galanti said in his post-fight interview. “The whole
time I was calling that right hook. I love that right hook in open
stances. I was hoping for a head-kick knockout, but I think it got
hooked up.”

Roberson had earned his UFC contract with a 15-second knockout of
Ryan
Spann
in the first season of DWCS in 2017. Galanti’s teammate
Luke
Fernandez
, who also trains with Roberson, scored the fastest
knockout in last season of DWCS in 15 seconds as well.
