Holloway
hopes Conor
McGregor
is “all good” after the former two-division
Ultimate Fighting Championship
champion had to limp out of the
Octagon following a leg injury at

.

While Holloway won the bout, his celebration was subdued because of
McGregor’s injury, largely suspected to be an ACL-related issue.
“Blessed” feels for his Irish counterpart and wished him the best
after their brief and anticlimactic clash.

The main event at UFC 329 lasted just over a minute as McGregor’s
return ended on a disappointing note. Over five years after his
last Octagon outing, the UFC legend suffered a major injury in the
opening sequence of the fight. He struggled to stand upright and
repeatedly fell, leading to a referee stoppage. Holloway was all
class in the aftermath, wishing McGregor a successful recovery.

Holloway hopes Conor McGregor makes a full recovery

“I mean, it is what it is, right?” Holloway said. “What can I say?
I had him weak in the knees, I guess,” the former UFC featherweight
champion said in a post-fight interview. “You know, all jokes
aside, as just not a fighter, as a human, I really hope he’s all
good, man. Hope that recovery will come well.”

Islam Makhachev becomes Max Holloway’s next target

Holloway called for a trilogy bout against McGregor soon after the
fight ended. However, given that the former two-division champion
is set for another stint on the sidelines, the Hawaiian is open to
staying at welterweight, setting his sights on UFC welterweight
champion Islam
Makhachev
.

“If I beat Islam [Makhachev], in Justin [Gaethje’s] words, I’m the
155 champ,” he said at the post-fight presser.
