Sean
O’Malley
’s went off on Conor
McGregor
after the Irish star mocked at the bantamweight
champion’s explanation for failing a drug test.

O’Malley has tested positive for the banned substance ostarine more
than once in his career. The most recent instance occurred in 2019,
which led to a suspension. However, O’Malley has consistently
denied having used PEDs, claiming the trace amounts found in his
sample must have been due to tainted supplements.

While O’Malley couldn’t pin down the supplements that could have
contained ostarine, he has found a new potential explanation for
his failed tests. O’Malley claims recent studies suggest that
ostarine can be transferred through sweat, possibly through sharing
garments or gear. “Sugar” believes Ostarine was transferred to him
while he was training at another gym, where ostarine use by
athletes was public knowledge. O’Malley believes teammates Kyler
Phillips
and Augusto
Mendes
, who both faced suspensions for the same substance, also
picked up traces of it while training at the aforementioned
gym.

“It was me, ‘Tanquinho’ [Augusto
Mendes
] and Kyler [Phillips]. All trained at the same gym, all
tested [positive], all levels so f—-ing low. None of us took
anything, we all swore on our lives,” O’Malley said on his YouTube channel. “And I remember asking
the UFC and USADA, ‘Can it be transferred through sweat?’ And they
said, ‘No, not at this time. There’s no studies that ever
happened.’ Just recently studies came out, scientists, athletes, it
happens. It happens on someone’s knee band. Someone was sharing a
knee band and they tested for ostarine. And they tested the knee
band, came back that ostarine and those kind of tainted supplements
can be through sweat exchange… We know exactly who the f—k it was,
we have a good idea…These guys were open about it, they were on,
they took it, they take it.”

While Phillips was suspended for six months back in January 2023,
Mendes never fought in the UFC after getting suspended in 2018.

O’Malley’s explanation for the failed drug test didn’t sit well
with McGregor, reacted to O’Malley’s comments with a laughter emoji
in a since deleted post on X.

O’Malley responded by saying he missed the McGregor of old in a
scathing social miedia post. While the bantamweight champ still
claims to be a fan of McGregor, he slammed the recent slump in the
Irishman’s career. O’Malley also claims that “Notorious” will never
be considered in the GOAT conversation even though he might be the
biggest superstar in the sport’s history.

“Miss the old Conor 🙁 you fell off bud. Still a fan tho. I
actually don’t care you are 1-4 in your last 5 I’m stills excited
to watch. Hope the toe is feeling better,” O’Malley wrote.

“Conor isn’t in anyone GOAT talk. Entertainment yes but skills, no.
Has a really good left hand. S–t cardio. Weak Jits. Decently
athletic. Mentally weak. Drug addict, needs rehab. 1-4 last 5
fights. Still fan tho. Hope toe heals up.”

McGregor was scheduled to return to the Octagon after a three-year
hiatus against Michael
Chandler
in the main event at UFC 303
last month before pulling out due to a broken toe. Meanwhile,
O’Malley is rumored to defend his bantamweight strap against
Merab
Dvalishvili
at UFC
306
in September at the Sphere in Las Vegas.
