A heavyweight trilogy between Valentin
Moldavsky and Linton
Vassell will serve as the main event when
Professional Fighters League begins the second leg of its
regular season on June 13.
The organization on Monday announced the two featured bouts for
PFL 4, which takes place at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville,
Connecticut. In addition to Moldavsky vs. Vassell, Dakota
Ditcheva will meet Chelsea
Hackett in a women’s flyweight contest in the evening’s
co-headliner. More fights for the card, which features heavyweights
and women’s flyweights, will be announced in the coming weeks.
A former Bellator
MMA interim champion, Moldavsky kicked off his 2024 PFL
campaign in style, earning a first-round stoppage of Ante Delija
at the league’s first regular season event on April 4. The
32-year-old Russian last faced Vassell at Bellator 292, where he
suffered a first-round KO defeat in March 2023. However, Moldavsky
bested Vassell via unanimous decision in their initial meeting at
Bellator 218.
Vassell, meanwhile, had a five-bout winning streak snapped in his
promotional debut, as he fell to Denis
Goltsov via third-round TKO at
PFL 1. The 40-year-old
Kill Cliff FC representative is now 5-2 since moving to
heavyweight from 205 pounds.
Ditcheva has been victorious in her first 11 professional outings,
a run that includes five PFL appearances. The 2023 PFL Europe queen
began her flyweight season with a first-round TKO of Lisa
Mauldin at PFL 1.
A former competitor on
Dana White’s Contender Series, Hackett is coming off a
first-round submission loss to Jena Bishop
at PFL 1. The Australian is 4-2-1 over the course of her brief
professional tenure.
