Cyborg (3-0 Boxing, 27-2 MMA) is booked to headline Green Bay Fight
Night opposite Widnelly Figueroa (0-2) at the Watering Hole in
Green Bay, Wisconsin, on April 27. The fighter’s team reported the
booking through a press release.

Promoted by Roughhouse Promotions and Salomon Becerra, the bout is
scheduled for four two-minute rounds with 10-ounce gloves at 154
pounds.

Cyborg scored a first-round knockout over Kelsey
Wickstrum
in January to extend her perfect record to 3-0 in the
ring. Meanwhile, Figueroa returns to action for the first time
since 2017, still in search of her first pro win.

Cyborg’s return to boxing comes amidst long drawn-out negotiations
regarding a mixed martial arts clash against
Professional Fighters League
featherweight champ Larissa
Pacheco
. The Bellator
MMA
featherweight champ was surprisingly not a part of the
champ vs. champ card that went down in February.

Having finished 21 of her 27 MMA wins via knockout, Cyborg now
looks to bring her knockout power to the squared circle.

“I was hopeful to be fighting Pachecho in June, which gave me
limited dates to pursue a boxing fight,” the 38-year-old said.
“Figueroa is a tough opponent who has been in the ring with boxing
Olympians with a lot more experience than me. I have been training
hard and am hoping to continue showing the improvements I am making
in my boxing skills. I want to prove to the people in boxing that
my KO power in MMA can translate into KO power with the bigger
gloves. I’m working on my boxing techniques so that I am going to
be able to deliver the type of fight-ending finishes fans want to
see. I’m looking to bring excitement to Women’s boxing like I’ve
done in WMMA.”

Meanwhile, PFL CEO Peter Murray recently told Bloody Elbow that the promotion
plans to book Cyborg vs. Pacheco for the co-main event at a PFL
Super Fight card in September.
