UFC lightweight Michael
Chandler appeared on WWE Raw and took the microphone to call
out Conor
McGregor in front of those in attendance at the Honda Center in
Anaheim, California. The timing worked out well because Chandler
had been in attendance for UFC 298 at the same venue two days
prior.
“Hey, what’s up Anaheim. You are now in the presence of the most
entertaining UFC fighter on the planet,” Chandler said. “Hey, now
there’s a man from Ireland that’s been making me wait for way too
long, and I’ve still got one dude on my mind. Conor McGregor, get
your candy ass back to the Octagon. We’ve got some unfinished
business, boys. God bless. I’ll see you at the top.”
Chandler has been awaiting his matchup with McGregor ever since the
two lightweights served as opposing coaches on “The Ultimate
Fighter 31” last year. However, the bout has yet to come to
fruition, and the date for a McGregor return continues to look
murky at best.
“I don’t know. Conor McGregor’s got a lot of money,” UFC CEO Dana
White said regarding the fighter’s status at Saturday’s post-fight
press conference. “Any time we get Conor, we’ll be happy. You know,
we’ll be thrilled when he comes and fights. Money complicates a lot
of things. He just filmed a movie. He’s got to do the press for the
movie, and he’s got obligations with that. He does want to fight
this year, but we’ll see what happens.”
