Brandon
Moreno has received a spot in his own ESPN commercial.

The former flyweight champion will make his “This is SportsCenter”
commercial debut on all ESPN platforms ahead of his bout against
Brandon
Royval in the
UFC Fight Night 237 headliner this Saturday.
The humorous spot is entitled “Elevator” and depicts Moreno and his
team arriving at their desired floor as they would for a fight
night walkout. Meanwhile, SportsCenter anchor Nicole Briscoe looks
on indifferently as the fighter exits and the elevator doors
close.
The commercial features both English and Spanish-language versions.
In the Spanish version, SportsCenter anchor Jorge Eduardo Sanchez
and ESPN Deportes commentator Mauricio Pedroza struggle to exit the
elevator as Moreno bounces around and his coach barks out
instructions.
“Early mornings are part of the job here at ESPN. Whether it’s your
team hyping you up or a cup of coffee, we all have to find a way to
bring the energy,” said Seth Ader, vice president of brand
marketing at ESPN, in a release. “But more importantly, this spot
is an example of how ‘This is SportsCenter’ serves as an amazing
platform to show the diversity of athletes and backgrounds in the
sports universe.”
Moreno is the first athlete to appear in a “This is SportsCenter”
spot in 2024 after the segment made its return last year. “The
Assassin Baby” became the UFC’s first Mexican-born champion when he
submitted Deiveson
Figueiredo to capture the flyweight crown at UFC 263 in June
2021. Moreno has enjoyed two separate reigns as 125-pound title
holder in the Las Vegas-based promotion but relinquished the strap
to Alexandre
Pantoja in a split-decision defeat at UFC 290 this past
July.
UFC Fight Night 237 takes place at Mexico City Arena in Mexico
City. The main card airs on ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT, while
prelims also stream on ESPN+ beginning at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
