Covington (17-3) is set to challenge Leon
Edwards (21-3) for the welterweight title at
UFC 296 this weekend. Leading up to the event, “Chaos” not only
aimed his distasteful humor at his upcoming opponent, but he also
made his disdain for Strickland (28-5) very clear, labeling the
middleweight champ a “pathetic human being.”
Responding to Covington’s verbal attack, Strickland retorted:
“Colby is an utter piece of sh*t… “If you know Colby on a
personal level, he f*cked over everybody he f*cking knows. I take
Colby as a personal insult to me because the Trumpsters, the
Republicans, you guys are my f*cking people; the blue-collar
workers. You guys are my f*cking people, and you guys have a c*nt
like Colby come in here taking advantage. He don’t give a f*ck
about you.
“Him making fun of Leon’s dad, that is the biggest f*cking c*nt
move you can do. Leon’s mom, dad — bad guy or good guy, it doesn’t
matter. She raised a boy to be a f*cking man, to win a title and be
a good man. A real f*king American would applaud him for that, he
wouldn’t tear him down. Colby is a fake f*king p*ssy. If he were
standing here right now, the only thing he would do is call 911
because he’s the definition of a f*cking b*tch.”
Strickland (28-5) is set to face South Africa’s Dricus Du
Plessis (20-2) for his first title defense on Jan. 20 at
UFC 297. In the co-main event, Raquel
Pennington will take on Mayra
Bueno Silva for the vacant bantamweight title. The event will
take place at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
