McGregor recently went on a tirade against the Irish government
regarding the murder of Ireland native Ashling Murphy at the hands
of an immigrant.

A 23-year-old high school teacher and musician, Murphy, was
murdered by Slovakian immigrant Jozef Puska while walking alongside
the Grand Canal in Tullamore, County Offaly, in January 2022.
Puska, who was also a sex offender in his native country, was
arrested earlier this month and
sentenced to life by a unanimous jury in a Dublin court.
Puska was reportedly unemployed and living on welfare since
arriving in Ireland, which has raised criticism regarding the
influx of immigrants into the country. McGregor also voiced his
opinion on the same issue, calling for a new system to keep a check
on immigrant activity in a since-deleted tweet.
“I’ll say it! What sort of ridiculousness was/is it to allow that
sort in to our country? Ireland is not a revolving door, nor even
attached to other nations! It is a stand alone island among the
greatest of all Gods beautiful creations,” he wrote.
“We are awaiting our announcement of the new system,
@OireachtasNews. And let this be no slight on the many hard
working, honest families who migrate to Ireland and contribute
greatly to our society. A new system must be put in place now for
the safety of our great county and all its habitants! We need
removal of the danger, and welcome of the help! Eradicate and
tighten. Ireland is God’s country, we will forever be
protected.”
The former Ultimate Fighting Championship double champion also
slammed politician Micheál Martin for a vague response to questions
raised by Murphy’s boyfriend, Ryan Casey. McGregor also questioned
Ireland’s association with the European Union, which compels them
to be lenient with their borders.
“What are we doing/what have we done to ensure this situation
doesn’t happen again, Micheál? Since the heinous and horrific
murder of an Irish citizen in broad daylight at the hands of a
foreign criminal there has been a zero action response from the
[three] parties in power,” McGregor wrote. “Nothing at all has been
done yet. What is the hold up? You have answered nothing here also.
We need a brand new task force founded in Ireland with the sole
objective of assessing and monitoring all entrants that come into
Ireland, and we need a clean sweep of those already here under
false pretenses or that have broke the law here. Our country is at
stake and we will tolerate nothing less. Free travel around Europe
is NOT WORTH IT to carry on with this current system. It is a
failed system! Announce this and correct it NOW! Correct this or
you are all finished. The straw has broke the camels back. Your
clock is ticking. #ForAshling #Forlreland.”
Bravo, Ryan Casey!
