With COVID-19 resurgent in Singapore, One Championship has decided to go back to
closed-door, tape-delayed events.

Via press release on Thursday, One sent out the lineup for the
first of a trio of events in the “Nextgen” series. The first, a
live show, will take place on Oct. 29 at the Singapore Indoor
Stadium in Kallang, Singapore, and it will feature six bouts
including two kickboxing contests. The subsequent fight cards of
Nextgen
II
and
Nextgen III
will air via tape delay on Nov. 12 and Nov. 26,
respectively.

The live show of One:
Nextgen
will be capped off by a light heavyweight kickboxing
title fight between champ Roman Kryklia and Murat Aygun. This same
fight card will also see the semifinals of its atomweight (115
pounds) grand prix take place, as Nong Stamp
(6-1) collides with Julie
Mezabarba
(9-2-1) while Ritu Phogat
(6-1) takes on Itsuki
Hirata
(5-0). Mezabarba is serving as a replacement for
Seo Hee
Ham
, who pulled out of the tourney due to injury after her win
over Denice
Zamboanga
was upheld by the organization’s “Competition
Committee.”

The concurrent muay Thai fighter known as “Stamp Fairtex” exacted a
modicum of revenge over the first woman to hand her a professional
MMA loss in Alyona
Rassohyna
, snagging a split decision at One: Empower in
September. Mezabarba, on the other hand, prevailed in her alternate
bout against Mei
Yamaguchi
at the same event. Ahead of the other semifinal, both
Phogat and Hirata took home unanimous verdicts over Meng Bo and
Alyse
Anderson
, respectively, at the Empower event.
