Melquizael Costa was victorious at UFC Vegas 106, but he did not emerge from his fight against Julian Erosa unscathed.

UFC CEO Dana White took to social media to share several images of Costa’s gruesome toe injury suffered at the event, a significant gash which required stitches to repair. However, that wound did not prevent Costa from earning a unanimous decision triumph against Erosa in a bout that received “Fight of the Night” honors.

The 28-year-old Brazilian has been one of the promotion’s most active fighters in 2025, with triumphs over Andre Fili, Christian Rodriguez and Eroa since February. Costa has won four straight UFC appearances overall.

On Saturday, Jose Aldo held court for family, friends and the media at Upper Arena in Rio de Janeiro in a celebration of his legendary career after announcing his retirement at UFC 315 on May 10.

Hosted by Thales Leites, the former UFC and WEC featherweight champion recalled memorable moments, listened to testimonies from those close to him and answered questions from the press. Former NFL star Antonio Brown was detained by police after gunshots were fired outside of Adin Ross’ celebrity boxing event in Miami.

According to a report from the Associated Press, police responded to an alert from the gunshot detection system ShotSpotter at approximately 3 a.m. local time on Saturday morning. Department spokeswoman Kiara Delva said officers questioned multiple people, but no arrests were made. No injuries were reported at the scene.

The investigation remains ongoing, but authorities are currently unable to confirm names of anyone involved.
