A little more than two weeks after coming up short in her bid for flyweight gold against Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 315, Manon Fiorot has broken her silence.

Fiorot dropped a hard-fought unanimous decision to Shevchenko in the UFC 315 co-headliner at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on May 10. While the Frenchwoman was able to make the bout a grinding affair at times, she still saw a 12-fight professional winning streak come to an end against one of the sport’s top pound-for-pound talents.The 35-year-old reacted to the loss in a statement on her Instagram account.
"It just wasn't my day. A close fight, but no breakthrough. And even though it hurts, I know one thing: Everything happens for a reason,” Fiorot wrote. “With experience, I've learned to trust.
