Video: Anthony Smith Home Intruder Caught on Camera Attempting to Enter Another Residence

The intruder who Anthony Smith fought with on April 5 after the man broke into the UFC fighter’s Nebraska home allegedly attempted to enter other residences in the area.

In a video shared by 3KMTV Omaha, Luke Haberman is shown attempting to break into another home. When Haberman finds the door locked, he screams loudly before leaving the front porch. The man was later able to enter Smith’s home, where he was subdued by the title challenger. Smith told KMTV that he accidentally left his garage door open.

“No normal human is able to fight like that,” Smith said. “I’m by no means the baddest dude on the planet. But he’s a regular Joe and I had a hard time dealing with him. And he took everything that I gave him — every punch, every knee, every elbow. He took every single one of them and kept fighting me.”

The Douglas County Sheriff’s office cited Haberman for criminal trespassing, and he was taken to the hospital but has since been released. Law enforcement is investigating Haberman for allegedly breaking into another home in the area and attempting to break into vehicles. Haberman is suspected to have been under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

“There was probably some evidence at the scene where he was found, some of his mannerisms, the way he was tells that he’s on something or was on something but again that’s something we’re looking into,” Douglas County Sheriff’s Captain Wayne Hudson said. “It’s your own home. I mean you can defend yourself in your own home. In this situation here the individual (Smith) was professionally trained to subdue individuals so based on what he does for a sport.”

Haberman was charged with assaulting a female and destruction of property in Lincoln, Nebraska, in February, according to the report.

Smith was scheduled to meet Glover Teixeira in the UFC Fight Night 173 main event on April 25, but all UFC events have been suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic.
