The plans for June 3’s UFC
on ESPN 45 main event in Las Vegas have to be changed after one
of its protagonists got injured.

Jack
Hermansson suffered an undisclosed injury that will prevent him
from taking part in a clash with Brendan
Allen. As of this writing, it is unknown whether the
Ultimate Fighting Championship will reschedule the clash or
will find a different opponent for Allen. The news was
first reported by MMA Mania on Thursday, and Allen has
confirmed it on his social media accounts.
Hermansson (23-8, 10-6 UFC), a former
Cage Warriors Fighting Championship 185-pound titleholder, has
produced mixed results recently. “The Joker” is 2-3 in his last
five bouts, with decision victories over Edmen
Shahbazyan and Chris
Curtis and defeats at the hands of Marvin
Vettori, Sean
Strickland and Roman Dolizde.
Onetime
Legacy Fighting Alliance champion Allen (21-5, 9-2 UFC) is
currently riding a four-bout winning streak. “All In” has already
competed once this year, scoring a third-round submission over
Andre
Muniz in the UFC Fight Night 220 headliner. Allen, a Dana
White’s Contender Series graduate, has lost only twice in the past
five years.
The event’s co-feature will see former women’s bantamweight queen
Miesha
Tate challenge Mayra
Bueno Silva. Also, Amir Albazi
faces onetime UFC title contender Kai Kara
France in a flyweight tilt.
