Undefeated Kara-Ool Changy Eviscerates Gexi Sanlang at ONE Friday Fights 56

Kara-Ool
Changy
dominated China’s Gexi
Sanlang
on his way to a second-round technical knockout in
their
ONE Friday Fights 56
strawweight showcase on Friday at Lumpinee
Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The end came 4:25 into Round
2. It was the lone mixed martial arts bout on the ONE
Championship
card.

It did not take long for Changy to put Sanlang on his back with a
kick in the opening seconds of the first round. The Russian kept
circling his downed adversary and managed to land a couple of
thudding shots to the body before letting him back to his feet. The
undefeated prospect continued to pressure his opponent with slick
counterstrikes from the southpaw stance, later dropping Sanlang
with a left hook while exiting the clinch. The Russian continued to
land shots to the head and body from top until the ref allowed the
Chinese national to get back to his feet. Sanlang seemed to have no
answer for Changy’s constant pressure, ultimately ending the
opening stanza on his back once more, his foe punishing him with
kicks to the legs.

Round 2 saw Sanlang look to strike with Changy until the Russian
managed to eat and catch a head kick and slam him to the canvas to
land a few punches before letting him up. Two minutes into the
second frame, Sanlang managed to take Changy’s back, only to be
reversed against the ropes and let go. Changy’s sense of urgency to
find the finish was apparent, as the Russian ate another head kick
and countered it with a stinging body shot to put Sanlang on his
back. Once back to their feet, the Russian continued to pepper his
opponent with side kicks to the leg and straight lefts to the body,
eventually landing a crisp straight left hand followed by a shovel
hook to Salang’s body that put him down to the canvas for the final
time.
