Unbeaten Zayundin Suleymanov Fells Adilet Mamytov at ONE Friday Fights 36

Zayundin
Suleymanov
could not have scripted a better One
Championship
debut.

The undefeated Russian cut down Adilet
Mamytov
with punches in the second round of their
ONE Friday Fights 36
flyweight showcase on Friday at historic
Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Suleymanov (7-0, 1-0
ONE) drew the curtain 2:46 into Round 2, as he planted his flag in
the Chatri Sityodtong-led promotion with authority.

Mamytov (5-1, 0-1 ONE) fired off some one-twos, a few flying knees
to the body and the occasional spinning attack but could not keep
his aggressive opponent at bay. Suleymanov kept him off-balance
with repeated takedowns and tie-ups, pairing those efforts with
ground-and-pound when the opportunity presented itself. He floored
Mamytov in the corner with an overhand left midway through the
second round, forced him into a defensive shell and closed it out
with follow-up punches.

Meanwhile, Lakay MMA prospect Carlos
Neyheban Alvarez
put away
Phruethukorn Chaichongcharden
with an anaconda choke less than
a minute into their featherweight co-feature. Alvarez (3-0, 3-0
ONE) brought it to a close 57 seconds into Round 1.

Chaichongcharden (3-2, 0-1 ONE) tested the waters with a leg kick
straight out of the gate but failed to maintain a safe distance.
Alvarez swooped in on the hips, locked his hands and completed a
textbook double-leg takedown. He then threatened the neck, set off
a brief scramble and caught the anaconda choke before
Chaichongcharden could return to his feet. Alvarez’s squeeze did
the rest.

Elsewhere, effective counters and a wise reliance on body kicks
carried Superball Tded99 to a unanimous decision over Julio Lobo in
a 140-pound catchweight muay thai barnburner. Superball curried the
necessary favor all on three scorecards after meeting with
considerable resistance across all three rounds.

A slow start proved costly for Lobo. Superball dictated the pace
and the terms of their engagement in the first round, then decked
the Brazilian with a clean one-two in the second. To his credit,
Lobo withstood the follow-up assault and worked his way into the
fight. He peaked in Round 3, where he hammered Superball’s torso
with punishing hooks from both hands—it prompted a retreat at one
point—and mixed in slashing elbows to the head. However, the finish
Lobo needed failed to materialize, leaving his fate to the
judges.

Finally, An Sukhumvit rep Pettonglor Sitluangpeenumfon rode
stinging inside leg kicks and vicious combinations to a unanimous
decision over Duangsompong Jitmuangnon in their three-round
flyweight muay thai attraction. All three ringside judges scored it
for Sitluangpeenumfon.

Jitmuangnon tried but ultimately failed to equal his opponent’s
overwhelming output, though he proved effective in the clinch with
close-range knees and got his fellow Thai’s attention with a body
kick in the third round. Sitluangpeenumfon paired speed with
accuracy, as he unleashed barrage after barrage, often landing
three, four or five strikes at a time. He stepped into elbows,
connected with body-head combinations and doubled up with kicks to
the legs and body on occasion.
