Colby
Covington will be sidelined for about a month and a half
following UFC
Tampa.
Covington received a 45-day medical suspension following his
third-round doctor stoppage loss to Joaquin
Buckley in the UFC on ESPN 63 headliner at Amalie Arena in
Tampa, Florida, on Dec. 14. The bout was stopped at the 4:42 mark
of Round 3 due to a severe cut above Covington’s right eye.
Buckley, meanwhile, emerged with a clean bill of health.

The Florida Athletic Commission recently released medical
suspensions from the event. Five fighters — Cub Swanson,
Dustin
Jacoby, Daniel
Marcos, George
Tokkos and Davey Grant
— were suspended indefinitely. The nature of each suspension was
not disclosed. A medical suspension will typically be lifted when
an athlete receives doctor clearance.
