Four fighters from this past Saturday’s
UFC on ESPN 43event are facing a potentially lengthy time on
the sidelines.
Daniel
Pineda, Lucas
Alexander, Steven
Peterson and C.J. Vergara
were all handed 180-day medical suspensions, according to the Texas
Department of Licensing and Regulation. Pineda defeated Tucker Lutz
via second round submission; Alexander took a three-round verdict
against Peterson; and Vergara scored a second-round stoppage of
Daniel da
Silva. The specific nature of each suspension was not
disclosed, but they can typically be reduced with physician
clearance. Everyone on the card received at least a seven-day
mandatory suspension.
