ESPN2 fare this weekend.
The
Ultimate Fighting Championship returns to ESPN2 airwaves on
Saturday with a 12-fight card headlined by Chan Sung
Jung vs. Dan Ige. Every
fighter on the
UFC on ESPN 25 card successfully made weight.
A fan-favorite since his days in
World Extreme Cagefighting, Jung (16-6) is looking to bounce
back from a one-sided defeat to Brian
Ortega. While the “Korean Zombie” didn’t get finished, it
derailed an impressive win streak that saw him dispatch both
Renato
Carneiro and Frankie
Edgar with punches. The South Korean fighter stepped on the
scale weighing 146 pounds.
Meanwhile, Ige (15-3) is coming off a quick 22-second knockout of
Gavin
Tucker. The Hawaiian has won seven of his last eight bouts
inside of the Octagon, with the lone defeat coming to Calvin
Kattar. He’ll look to cement himself as a top contender against
Jung. Ige took full advantage of the one-pound allowance, and
officially weighed 146 pounds.
UFC on ESPN 25 will air in its entirety on ESPN2 and ESPN+. The
prelims begin at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT, while the main card starts at
7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
