UFC Fighter Luis Pena Arrested on Misdemeanor Charges of Domestic Battery, Violence

For the second time in the past few months, UFC fighter Luis Pena has
been arrested.

Pena was arrested Saturday on misdemeanor charges of domestic
violence and battery, according to Broward County (Fla.) Jail

At approximately 12:34 a.m., Broward Sheriff’s Office Deerfield
Beach deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call near the
200 block of Southeast 12th Avenue in Deerfield Beach. On scene,
deputies made contact with multiple subjects, and Luis Antonio Peña
was later detained and taken into custody. Peña was transported to
BSO Main Jail and faces one count simple battery and one count
domestic violence battery (both misdemeanor). The investigation
continues.

Previously, Pena was
arrested and charged
with robbery by sudden snatching, battery
and criminal mischief following afight with his girlfriend on June
14. Pena allegedly smashed the woman’s phone on the ground and
punched her in the head, and had reportedly been suicidal. Around
that same time, Pena also authored multiple posts on social media
regarding his battle with mental health issues.

Pena has not competed since a split decision win over Alex Munoz
at UFC on ESPN 22 on April 17. The promotion was reportedly
investigating the previous Pena case and wasn’t planning to
schedule “Violent Bob Ross” for a fight until more information was
discovered.
