weight.

A few
Ultimate Fighting Championship
fighters may have cracked into
their Halloween candy a little early this weekend.

After another eventful stint on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, the UFC
returns to Las Vegas. Headlining the first-ever
UFC Halloween
event is former middleweight king Anderson
Silva
taking on Uriah Hall.
It’s been over seven years since Silva (34-10, 1 NC) has held UFC
gold. He’s won only one fight in his last eight, having been
awarded a decision over Derek
Brunson
. His last two fights saw “The Spider” lose a decision
to Israel
Adesanya
and get stopped by Jared
Cannonier
. Silva successfully weighed in at 184 pounds in what
could be the final bout of his career.

After a dazzling stint on “The Ultimate Fighter,” Hall (15-9) lost
his first two fights inside the Octagon by split decision. Since
then, he’s developed into a fringe middleweight contender having
won eight of his last 13. “Primetime” is currently on a two-fight
win streak with a knockout over Bevon Lewis
and a split decision over Antonio
Carlos Jr.
to his credit. Unlike multiple other fighters on the
card, Hall had no issue making weight and officially weighed 186
pounds.

The fight between Cortney
Casey
and Priscila
Cachoeira
is off due to Cachoeira’s inability to make weight.
Cachoeira’s request to have the flyweight bout moved to
bantamweight granted by the UFC, the Brazilian subsequently
slipped in a bathtub and hit her head
to knock her out of the
fight like Renan Barao
and Zak
Cummings
in the past. Additionally, Jack
Marshman
(187.5)** had weight issues, coming in 1.5 pounds
heavy for his middleweight scrap against Sean
Strickland
. Like he did in his last fight, Cole
Williams
(175.5)*** missed weight badly, coming in 4.5 pounds
heavy ahead of his welterweight bout against Jason Witt.
Finally, Greg Hardy
(264.5)* was very nearly the first UFC heavyweight to miss weight,
hitting 266.5 pounds on his first go-round, only to come back and
weigh in under the 266-pound cap.

UFC Fight Night 181
will stream in its entirety on ESPN+. The
preliminary card starts at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT, while the
five-fight main card kicks off at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
