An impressive career resurgence for Teixeira (33-8) was put on ice
in his last outing, where he suffered a fifth-round submission
defeat to Jiri
Prochazka in what was
Sherdog’s 2022 “Fight of the Year.” The 43-year-old Brazilian
will look to return to form and establish himself on top of the
division again against Hill (11-1, 1 NC), who is riding a
three-fight win streak. “Sweet Dreams” has shown devastating power,
and will look to use it to claim his first championship inside the
UFC. Teixeira weighed in at 205 pounds, while Hill came in at 204.5
pounds.
The legendary rivalry between Figueiredo and Moreno will continue
once more as both fighters weighed 125 pounds for their fourth
title clash. “Daico” won their last meeting, notching a decisive
five-round decision in last January. However, Moreno (20-6-2)
bounced back with an impressive win over Kai Kara
France to claim interim gold and set up the tetralogy fight.
Figueiredo (21-2-1) will look to end the rivalry once and for all
with another victory as the pair are 1-1-1 against each other.
The UFC 283 main card will air live on Saturday via pay-per-view
starting at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. Prior to that, prelims begin on
ESPN+ and UFC Fight Pass at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT before
transitioning to ESPN+ and ABC at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.
