UFC 267 Officially Confirmed for Oct. 30 in Abu Dhabi

The Ultimate Fighting Championship is officially heading back to
Abu Dhabi this fall.

The Las Vegas-based promotion announced Tuesday that
UFC 267
will take place at Etihad Arena on Oct. 30. According
to a release, the card is part of “Abu Dhabi Showdown Week,” which
includes fan events, fitness showcases and more.

No bouts were formally confirmed by the UFC, but the card is
expected to be headlined by a light heavyweight championship tilt
between Jan
Blachowicz
and Glover
Teixeira
. Other key bouts that have been reported include:
Islam
Makhachev
vs. Rafael dos
Anjos
at lightweight; Khamzat
Chimaev
vs. Jingliang
Li
at welterweight and Alexander
Volkov
vs. Marcin
Tybura
at heavyweight.

UFC 267 will mark the promotion’s first event in Abu Dhabi since
UFC 257 on Jan. 23, which was headlined by a rematch between
Dustin
Poirier
and Conor
McGregor
. The card is part of a five-year partnership that will
bring championship events to Abu Dhabi through 2023. During the
peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UFC held multiple events in the
country, then dubbed “Fight Island,” with four cards from July 11
through July 25 and five from Sept. 26 through Oct. 24.

“We are going back to Abu Dhabi in October,” said UFC President
Dana White. “Abu Dhabi is incredible – I love that place and the
people. I have been talking about all of the things we are working
on. I plan on getting all the deals buttoned up this summer. I
can’t wait to go back and share everything we are working on
together.”
