UFC 263 Bonuses: Moreno, Craig, Riddell, Dober Receive $50K Checks

Brandon
Moreno
has championship gold and a little something extra for
his bank account.

The newly crowned flyweight champion received a $50,000
“Performance of the Night” check for his third-round submission of
Deiveson
Figueiredo
in the UFC 263
co-main event at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz., on Saturday
night. Moreno landed a takedown in Round 3, transitioned to his
opponent’s back and locked in a rear-naked choke at the 2:26 mark
of the period.

Elsewhere, Paul Craig
collected the evening’s other $50,000 “Performance of the Night”
award with a first-round stoppage of Jamahal
Hill
in a featured light heavyweight affair. The Scot initially
secured an armbar that badly dislocated his foe’s limb before
officially getting the stoppage thanks to landing a barrage of
punches and elbows from his back while Hill was trapped in a
triangle at the 1:59 mark of Round 1.

Finally, Brad
Riddell
and Drew Dober
garnered “Fight of the Night” honors and $50,000 apiece for their
spirited preliminary lightweight scrap. While Dober hurt Riddell
early with a left hand, the City Kickboxing representative regained
his bearings and took control down the stretch behind a powerful
right hand to earn a unanimous decision triumph.
