UFC 235 Update: Ex-Champ Cody Garbrandt to Face Pedro Munhoz in Las Vegas

The UFC 235 lineup continues to grow, as former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt will return to meet Pedro Munhoz in Las Vegas on March 2.

ESPN was first to report the 135-pound pairing. UFC 235 takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and is expected to feature a light heavyweight championship showdown between Jon Jones and Anthony Smith as well as a welterweight tilt tilt pitting Tyron Woodley against Kamaru Usman.

Garbrandt enters the matchup on the heels of back-to-back losses to T.J. Dillashaw. “No Love” lost the 135-pound strap to his former Team Alpha Male training partner at UFC 217 via second-round TKO before falling to Dillashaw by knockout in the opening stanza of their rematch at UFC 227 this past August. Prior to those defeats, Garbrandt began his pro career with 11 consecutive triumphs.

Munhoz, meanwhile, has won six of his last seven Octagon appearances, including a first-round stoppage of Bryan Caraway in his most recent outing at “The Ultimate Fighter 28” finale. The 32-year-old’s only setback during that run came via split decision at the hands of John Dodson.
