UFC 228 is now available on Amazon Prime.
The weigh-ins nowadays have become a big part of the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s overall show; with so many fighters missing weight at the last minute, every weigh-in is a gamble.
That kind of weigh-in trepidation was justified this morning when the first-ever women’s flyweight champion, Nicco Montano, was transported to the hospital Friday ahead of the weigh-ins. She has been removed from the card and her bout against No. 1 contender Valentina Schevchenko (124.5) is officially off.
There was no such drama for the main event, as Tyron Woodley (170) and Darren Till (169) hit their marks with plenty of time to spare.
UFC 228 takes place on Saturday night in Dallas. The main card will air live on pay-per-view at 10 p.m. ET.
